What are Binaural Beats?

Binaural beats are an auditory illusion perceived when two different pure-tone sine waves, both with frequencies lower than 1500 Hz, are presented to a listener specifically, one through each ear. This effect was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove. For example, if a 530 Hz pure tone is presented to a subject's right ear, while a 520 Hz pure tone is presented to the subject's left ear, the listener will perceive the auditory illusion of a third tone, in addition to the two pure-tones presented to each ear. The third sound is called a binaural beat, and in this example, would have a perceived pitch of 10 Hz, being the difference between the 530 Hz and 520 Hz pure tones presented to each ear.

Key Benefits

Deep Focus

Beta and Gamma waves (14-40Hz) are linked to active concentration and problem-solving.

Better Sleep

Delta waves (0.5-4Hz) mimic the brain state of deep, dreamless sleep.

Meditation

Theta waves (4-8Hz) induce a state of deep relaxation and creativity.

Anxiety Relief

Alpha waves (8-14Hz) help calm the nervous system and reduce stress.

How to Use

01

Use Headphones

Stereo headphones are required for the binaural effect to work.

02

Select Frequency

Choose a preset based on your goal (e.g., Focus, Sleep).

03

Set Volume

Keep the volume low and comfortable for background listening.

Frequently Asked Questions

QDo I need headphones?

Yes, binaural beats rely on delivering different frequencies to each ear. Without headphones, the effect will not work.

QIs it safe?

Generally yes, but those with epilepsy or heart conditions should consult a doctor before using brainwave entrainment.

QHow long should I listen?

15-30 minutes is usually enough to start feeling the effects, but you can listen longer if comfortable.
